A portion of NYS HAF funds have been prioritized for individuals who are socially disadvantaged. The information you provide in this form will help us to determine whether you may be considered socially disadvantaged for purposes of the NYS HAF program.
A “socially disadvantaged individual” is a person whose ability to purchase or own a home has been impaired due to diminished access to credit on reasonable terms as compared to others in comparable economic circumstances, based on disparities in homeownership rates in New York State as documented by the U.S. Census. To qualify as a socially disadvantaged individual, the person must show such an impairment stemming from circumstances beyond their control.
